Every Real Housewives of Beverly Hills fan can agree that Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky’s marital woes were a dagger to the heart. The California sweethearts were married for nearly 30 years before sh*t began to hit the fan. Some of the drama played out on the last season of RHOBH. However, Mau’s Netflix reality show, Buying Beverly Hills, is getting to the bottom of it.

We’ve seen sneak peeks of the family addressing the noise on camera. But we didn’t know Kyle’s daughter, Alexia Umansky, discovered the news of her parents’ troubles through the press.

She addressed it on a recent episode of the Scrubbing In with Becca Tilley & Tanya Rad podcast, saying she learned the devastating details from an “article.” She continued, adding, “The news of my parents’ separation came out before we had ever talked about it as a family internally.”

How hard was it for Kyle, Mau, and the family to discuss their issues on camera?

Anybody who has been watching Kyle and Mau on Bravo for the last 13 years knows the OG Housewife prides herself on being honest. It’s why their family wanted to tackle the separation news head-on. “We just kind of had a moment, we were like, ‘We need to start talking,’” Alexia said. “And the cameras were gonna be there anyway, so we just leaned in. And that was in July. So, a lot has changed since then. But now we talked about everything.”

The 27-year-old added that cameras arrived a day after the story became public. “Farrah came, and that was the first full conversation as a family we had,” she explained. “So that was as real as it gets, as honest and open as it gets, which is so crazy.”

Mau revealed in a previous interview that they chose to keep the cameras rolling to capture their reality. “The reality is that we are going through our issues after being married for 28, 29 years. We did it, and we chose to put it on camera, and it was great, and now the audience gets to see the way that we interacted with each other.”
