Alexia Nepola Responds to Husband Todd Nepola Filing for Divorce

Another one bites the dust. To be honest, I was not surprised to hear that Alexia Echevarria Nepola and Todd Nepola were splitting up. But what did surprise me was that Alexia herself was surprised.

On April 11th, Todd filed for divorce at the Miami-Dade County courthouse. He didn’t list an official reason on the court documents, which leaves the break-up rumors wide open for speculation.

Turns out, the Real Housewives of Miami star might be stuck speculating herself. She took to her Instagram Stories to respond.

Alexia is “heartbroken”

Alexia wrote, “I am shocked and heartbroken that Todd has chosen to dissolve our marriage. I will take comfort in the fact that my friends and family will be by my side supporting me during his difficult time.”

Short and sweet, just like their union, I guess. The pair got married in 2021 in St. Barths. Alexia previously said of the ceremony, “Our favorite moment of the ceremony was when a big sea turtle came up to above the water. I knew there was a symbolic and spiritual meaning and the universe trying to tell me something. Sea turtles symbolize longevity, peace, perseverance, healing, steadfastness, wisdom, and emotional strength. I am a sea turtle!”

Further, Alexia seemingly made a nod to that sea turtle on an Instagram post for Valentine’s Day this year. “No matter what life throws my way, there’s one thing I can be sure of. We belong together. You will always be my Valentine. I love you forever.” She also added two turtle and heart emojis.

The split comes consequently after Alexia and Todd faced a tumultuous Season 6 of RHOM. The cast and fans alike questioned the couples’ finances after they moved into a smaller, less luxurious apartment. One they rented, to boot.

Additionally, castmate Adriana de Moura, who is known for stirring up trouble, was the one who suggested that Alexia and Todd were having marital issues. Basically, it’s something she repeatedly brought up on camera, much to Alexia’s dismay. While the latest season of RHOM was airing, Alexia called Adriana a “coward and a liar.”

Alexia has yet to file any court documents of her own, but we are keeping a close eye on this story!
