Alex Trebek's 'Jessica Rabbit' gaffe is making everyone smile

Alex Trebek had a little difficulty with contestants' names on Thursday night’s Jeopardy! — in fact, the beloved host confused one of the contestants for a fan-favorite Who Framed Roger Rabbit character.

The episode started a little bumpy for Trebek, who pronounced contestant Dewi Harjanto’s first name as “Doo-Wee” throughout the initial round. But at the beginning of the Double Jeopardy! round, Trebek admitted, “Dewi (Day-Wee), I've been mispronouncing your name, but I'm sure I'm not the first person who has done that over the years. My apologies to you.”

After reigning champion Jessica Babbitt won Final Jeopardy!, Trebek made a much funnier gaffe while saying the contestants name. “Jessica Rabbit, you're gonna wrap up the week with us having earned $46,598,” said Trebek.

The contestant immediately started laughing as an embarrassed Trebek said, “And your last name is not ‘Rabbit,’ it's ‘Babbitt.’ This is not my day for names.” And considering Trebek almost never makes mistakes, even he couldn’t help but tease himself for the silly goof. As he signed off he joked, “This is Alex ‘Rebek’ saying goodbye until tomorrow.”

Fans thought the moment was hilarious, and many took to Twitter to confirm and joke about the gaffe.
