Alex Trebek's Children Are Just As Intriguing As He Is
One of the most endearing personalities on television has always been longstanding Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek. Since 1984 Trebek has been the epitome of smart, cool and funny as contestants answer multiple questions in an attempt of securing big piles of cash for their wealth of knowledge. However in 2019 it was revealed that Trebek was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and he's been receiving a lot of love and well wishes from not just fellow celebrities, but from contestants of the show as well.

Other folks who are one hundred percent behind Trebek are his wife Jean and their two children, Emily and Matthew. But not many people know exactly how awesome his entire family is as he battles cancer and still has to remain hardworking as one of America's most recognizable faces. So just exactly who are Emily and Matt Trebek? Well, one look into their bios and it becomes clear that they definitely took their drive and determination from their father, according to Distractify.
Let's start with Matt, Trebek's oldest child.
Matt graduated from Fordham University back in 2015, and during his time as a student, he worked as a bartender. He says his side hustle ultimately inspired his career. Matthew is now a 29-year-old restaurateur, currently residing in the Harlem neighborhood of New York City. He opened a popular Mexican street food restaurant called Oso back in 2015, and a cocktail lounge called Lucille's back in 2019. Both have gained tremendous success in the last few years, and he hopes to continue opening more equally-popular establishments.
And as for Matt's younger sister Emily she, too, has established herself in her own right by following in their mother Jean's footsteps.
She graduated from Loyola Marymount University back in 2015, according to Dre Share, and ultimately decided to follow her mother's footsteps, pursuing a lucrative career in real estate. Currently, she is employed by a Los Angeles-based agency called Compass. Emily has a strong background in residential design and property development and brings a unique and interesting eye to her clients. And from growing up in Southern California, Emily has extensive knowledge regarding San Fernando Valley and Hollywood Hills Communities.
And as far as how they feel about their father they've both expressed how deep their love runs for him on separate occasions. However following a home renovation project that Trebek assisted with Emily had this to say (via Jeopardy's website)
“I don’t have words to express how much it means to me that he helped. Just telling him how much I appreciate it and how much I thank him for guiding me through this and helping me sounds so insignificant. I don’t have the words to make it sound as significant as I feel.”
Looks like Alex and Jean Trebek did an amazing job raising their children, and the love they have for each other is evident in the kind words they always share.
