Alex Trebek shades terribly boring ‘Jeopardy!’ game: ‘Not a big winner’

Alex Trebek appeared displeased with Thursday's Jeopardy! In fact the game was so bad that by the end, Trebek was promising a better game to come on Friday. Throughout the game there appeared to be an unusual amount of incorrect responses from the contestants. There were also at least ten instances in which none of the contestants attempted a response, including three-in-a-row during “Double Jeopardy!” Tebek even seemed concerned that the entire category of “baseball manager” would go unanswered. Trebek asked, “This isn't going to be a repeat of the football category from last year, is it?” He was referencing a game in 2018 when the contestants couldn’t come up with a correct response for any clue. Luckily for Thursdays contestants, the category was interrupted by the end of the round buzzer. Which led to Trebek responding, “Well, we'll save the contestants.” Heading into the “Final Jeopardy!” commercial break, the highest total was only $5,600 and Alex seemed unenthused. “Okay, low scores as we get set for Final Jeopardy!” said Trebek, “Not a big winner coming up.” While the game was terrible, fans on Twitter were loving Alex’s snarky jibes towards the contestants. After an uneventful ending, Alex literally signed off by promising a better show next time. “We'll see you tomorrow,” said Trebek “The categories will be different, I promise.”
