Alex Trebek Completes Chemotherapy: 'I'm On the Mend'

Alex Trebek is officially back to work after completing therapy.

The 79-year-old quiz show host was featured in a teaser for the 36th season of "JEOPARDY!" that dropped on Thursday.

Trebek says, "It's another day at the office for me," before looking back on some of the great moments from last season, including "Jeopardy James" Holzhauer, who dominated the TV show during a 32-episode win streak.

He then explains, "I've gone through a lot of chemotherapy," and says, "thankfully that is now over."

"I'm on the mend," Trebek optimistically says as he's seen doing standing push-ups backstage before a taping of the show.

As we reported, Trebek made the announcement about his pancreatic cancer back in March, telling fans,

"Just like 50,000 other people in the United States each year, this week I was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Now normally, the prognosis for this is not very encouraging, but I’m going to fight this, and I’m going to keep working.”

“And with the love and support of my family and friends and with the help of your prayers also, I plan to beat the low survival rate statistics for this disease. Truth told, I have to! Because under the terms of my contract, I have to host Jeopardy! for three more years!"

After an aggressive treatment plan, Trebek revealed back in May that his stage 4 pancreatic cancer was in "near remission."

He explained, "The doctors said they hadn’t seen this kind of positive result in their memory ... some of the tumors have already shrunk by more than 50 percent."

Showing some moments they've already taped for the upcoming season, Trebek can be seen celebrating his birthday this past July, and also joking to the audience that he would like Betty White to play him, if his life ever gets a biopic.

New episodes of "JEOPARDY!" officially begin on September 9, and Trebek says, "Let me tell you, it's going to be a good year."
