Alex Rodriguez Turns Attention to 'What Matters Most' After Burglary & Yes, Jennifer Lopez Makes the List

It’s easy to get attached to material possessions (and to be clear, there’s nothing wrong with that). But sometimes, a painful wake-up call can remind you that true happiness doesn’t lie with the things you own. Just ask Alex Rodriguez, who’s focusing on Jennifer Lopez and family after a burglary earlier this week. Rodriguez’s car was broken into on Sunday and several valuables were taken. But Rodriguez’s recent Instagram post proves the former MLB star is keeping his mind on what matters.
Four days after the reported theft occurred, Rodriguez took to Instagram to let the world know how he was feeling. He posted a black-and-white photo of himself, Lopez, and their four kids: Lopez’s 11-year-old twins Max and Emme, and Rodriguez’s 14-year-old daughter Natasha and 11-year-old daughter Ella. “This is what matters most. #FamilyFirst ❤️,” Rodriguez captions the photo.

Rodriguez’s burglary incident occurred in San Francisco, while he was recording ESPN’s “Sunday Night Baseball” broadcast. Police report that a camera, laptop, bag, and various jewelry items were all reported missing, with sources telling the San Francisco Chronicle the items were valued at $500,000. But as Rodriguez’s Instagram caption points out, it’s family that matters most — no matter how valuable those possessions were.

Rodriguez proposed to Lopez this March, and the couple has been all over each other since (with a slight blip surrounding those cheating rumors). Amid the displays of PDA and extravagant birthday gifts of the past few months, the duo has also been making a special effort to spend time together as a family. Their recent vacation in Israel shows off their adorable blended family, and it’s clear that both parents couldn’t be happier to bring their children together this way.
While it’s of course horrible that Rodriguez suffered this incident, it’s great that he’s level-headed enough to not let it overshadow the many other wonderful things in his life. First and foremost: the family he’s building with love of his life and “dream date” Jennifer Lopez.
