Alex Rodriguez is reflecting on an emotional moment.

While appearing on Friday's episode of The Jennifer Hudson Show, the retired professional baseball player, 48, chatted with Jennifer Hudson, 42, and reflected on his relationship with his two daughters, recalling how emotional he got when he dropped his older daughter off for college at the University of Michigan.

"You have two daughters?" Hudson asks.

"I have two daughters. Natasha's 18, Ella's 15. And I just dropped off Natasha in college last month," Rodriguez responds.

"Oh congratulations," Hudson asks. "How is that going?"

"Oh Jennifer, that was hard," Rodriguez remembers. "You know, Cynthia, who is my ex-wife, she's one of my greatest friends in the world. I was telling Cynthia, 'I got this. Don't worry about it. It's going to be emotional for me, but Daddy's got it.'"

"Jennifer, the minute I walked in, I started breaking down. And it was the hardest thing to drop off your little baby in college," he says.

"Oh, it hit different, don't it," Hudson tells Rodriguez.

"She's doing great," Rodriguez says before responding to the singer. "Yeah, it does. You're right. You're right. But I'm a mess, I go back and we have dinner at night and then I tell my little Ella, 'Ella, isn't it terrible that we miss Natasha?'"

"She goes, 'Nah Dad, we're good. This is one on one time, now. And tomorrow, let's go do a little shopping,' " he says with a laugh.

Natasha announced back in April that she would be continuing her academic pursuits at the University of Michigan for a BFA in musical theatre.

"I still can't believe this is a real opportunity I've been given, and it's an absolute dream come true," Natasha shared on Instagram at the time.

Rodriguez also congratulated Natasha on her college acceptance, writing, "Can't believe she's about to graduate and head off to college. I've got all the emotions. For now, GO BLUE!! 💙."
