Alex Rodriguez Celebrates Daughter Ella's 16th Birthday with Sweet Post: 'I Am So Proud of You in Every Way'

The former professional baseball player shared multiple snaps of his youngest daughter through the years on Instagram

Alex Rodriguez's daughter Ella is celebrating her sweet 16!

On Sunday, April 21, Rodriguez, 48, shared multiple photos of his daughter over the years on Instagram, including one throwback shot of the pair lounging on a pool chair.

Another throwback pic showed a younger Ella wearing a graduation cap, while a more recent selfie showed her posing alongside her dad as a teen while wearing a New York Yankees top — one of the baseball teams Rodriguez used to play for — and sunglasses.

Among the carousel of photos was a photo of a younger Ella posing with her dad on the baseball field, while another more recent image showed Rodriguez kissing his daughter on the forehead on a boat with a double rainbow in the background.

The sportsman also shared a mirror selfie of the pair posing in a clothing store. "Happy Birthday Ella! You light up [every] room you walk into and I am so proud of you in every way. ❤️," Rodriguez captioned the post.

Ella is the youngest of the two daughters he shares with his ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis, 51. The former couple, who wed in 2002 before getting divorced in 2008, also share daughter Natasha, 19, together.

"They have a good relationship now, having put their kids ahead of everything else," a source told PEOPLE of the exes in June 2021.

"They have love and caring from both sides. And each parent admires how the other handles the kids," the source added at the time.

Rodriguez regularly shares social media updates featuring his daughters and posted one relatable dad moment last month after taking Ella to see Olivia Rodrigo in concert.

“POV: Life as a Teenager’s Dad,” he wrote across a video shared on social media.

While speaking to PEOPLE earlier this month, Rodriguez admitted he "had a great time" at the gig. "I was surrounded by 20,000 teenagers screaming very, very loud, but Ella had the time of her life," he recalled.

"She got to meet Olivia after, and she was so nice to my daughter," the proud father continued. "She was so humble, so connected, and it's definitely a day that we won't forget for a long time."
