This story contains spoilers for season 2 of Selling the OC.

The biggest development in season 2 of Selling the OC has nothing to do with fresh real estate.

The Netflix hit's second season, which dropped Friday at midnight PT, offers a satisfying progression to one of the biggest teases of season 1: cast mates Tyler Stanaland and Alex Hall finally giving into their burgeoning attraction to each other.

During a highly eventful work trip to Cabo, Stanaland and Hall ended the season finale by sharing a kiss in a hot tub — a moment the entire season had seemingly led up to.

Hall opened up to PEOPLE about what went down and what's next for the pair.

“Yes, we did make an upgrade [to our friendship],” Halls says. “We made an upgrade.”

While the pair had not previously confirmed their rumored relationship, they haven’t been completely subtle about it, either. Stanaland and Hall were spotted getting cozy together when they attended a dinner with friends and costars at SOTA Sushi in Corona Del Mar, hours after he and ex Brittany Snow announced their split in September 2022,

Hall previously denied there were any romantic feelings between her and her costar, telling PEOPLE at the time that they were simply out with colleagues and Stanaland "was going through a really, really hard time."

Snow filed for divorce four months later in January 2023 and it was finalized in July, less than a year after they announced their separation. Some of the emotional aftermath, at least on Stanaland’s part, was captured during the Netflix reality show’s second season.

Fortunately for Stanaland, this season also acted as what he calls a "reset" during which he focused on his career, and subsequently, his feelings for Hall, which proved to be a popular topic with the cast leading to at least two onscreen quarrels.

But navigating the difficult period post-divorce also proved to be a valuable life experience for the reality TV star.

“I had great people around me and dove into work,” he said. “I think I'm still healing, in certain ways, from it, but I keep saying divorce doesn't have to be a bad thing. You learn and grow from it.”
