THREE OAKS — Alejandro Escovedo performs at 8 p.m. April 21 at The Acorn, 107 Generations Drive.

Born in San Antonio, Texas, Escovedo has built a geographically and musically diverse career since the 1970s as a member of the San Francisco punk band The Nuns, with avant-garde artist Judy Nylon in New York, the cowpunk band Rank and File in Austin, Texas, and the roots rock/Americana band True Believers, also in Austin.

Since 1992, he has released 19 solo albums, beginning with 1992’s “Gravity,” as well as such acclaimed albums as 2008’s “Real Animal,” 2010’s “Street Songs of Love,” 2016’s “Burn Something Beautiful” and 2018’s “The Crossing.”

Released earlier this year, his most recent album, “Echo Dancing,” reimagines 14 songs from his career, including “Bury Me,” “Castañuelas” and “Last to Know.”

Tickets are $75-$50; $80-$55 day of show.
