Alec Baldwin Says President Trump Was Invited to Appear on ‘SNL’ When He Hosted

Alec Baldwin stopped by Ellen on Wednesday, and, of course, Baldwin’s Saturday Night Live impression of President Trump became the topic of conversation. Trump hasn’t been a fan of the impression from the beginning, saying in a tweet that it couldn’t get any worse. Baldwin said that since he began doing the impression, he and Trump haven’t seen each other, but there was one opportunity, and it would have been YUUUGE.

“When we did the show, when I hosted SNL this season, we asked him to come. We invited him to come. We were so hopeful he would come, but he didn’t show up,” Baldwin said with a laugh.

Given the animosity between Baldwin and Trump, it’s doubtful that, had he decided to appear on SNL, Trump’s greeting for Baldwin would have matched that of the people of New York City. Baldwin said that people are constantly walking up to him and saying thank you.
