Alec Baldwin's memoir Nevertheless: 9 most memorable lines

Alec Baldwin is set for Spike TV’s One Night Only franchise, EW can exclusively reveal.

The actor, writer, comedian, and producer will be celebrated in One Night Only: Alec Baldwin, an original special that’s described as “part This is Your Life, part Dean Martin Roast.” The black tie event will feature tributes from Baldwin’s friends and colleagues and will include comedy, film packages, music, stories, surprises, and more. It will tape at the Apollo Theater in New York City on Sunday, June 25 and premiere on Spike TV on Sunday, July 9 at 9 p.m. E.T.

“I am dreading this. I am truly dreading this,” Baldwin said in a statement. “But if Tracy Morgan is coming, it’ll be okay. Is Tracy coming?” (Seriously, who wouldn’t want to see that 30 Rock reunion?)

“Alec is an original and one of the greats — heroic, complicated, legendary, brilliant, and hilarious,” said Casey Patterson, who is executive-producing with Beth McCarthy-Miller directing. “When we spoke about this event, he said, ‘You overestimate the number of friends I have,’ and I replied, ‘You underestimate the number of people that will line up to have fun at your expense.’ It will be that kind of night — love and laughs.”

In addition to his standout role as Jack Donaghy on the Tina Fey comedy, Baldwin is known for his work in The Departed, The Hunt for Red October, Glengarry Glen Ross, The Aviator, Beetlejuice, The Cooler, Mission: Impossible—Rogue Nation, and more. Let’s not forget the 17 times he’s hosted Saturday Night Live nor his recent impressions of President Trump on the sketch comedy series.

The One Night Only series celebrates comedy legends and, accordingly, previously honored Eddie Murphy and Don Rickles with appearances by David Letterman, Jerry Seinfeld, Robert De Niro, among others.
