Hope Hicks may have made a big impression on Donald Trump, but she wasn't quite so memorable for Alec Baldwin.

An in-depth New York Magazine piece detailing Hicks' rapid rise to prominence includes an unexpected celebrity nugget that took place eight years ago at Super Bowl XLV.

Hicks, then an aspiring actress, had auditioned for a movie in which Baldwin ultimately starred. The two reportedly met at a Super Bowl tailgate. But when a NYMag reporter asked about the encounter, Baldwin had a simple response:

"How odd," Baldwin said. "I have no recollection of that."

A vocal critic of the Trump administration, Baldwin's "Saturday Night Live" impersonation of the president has included swings at Hicks, who was the White House communications director before recently stepping down from her position.

"She's like a daughter to me," Baldwin, as Trump, mused. "So smart, so hot."
