Brown and Adams have been close for years, and announced the intended nuptials at the end of August.

Adams first addressed the end of the engagement, explaining to fans that she had endured too much harassment while dating a reality TV star.

"It’s been a long battle for me to decide what I should do," the former fiancée wrote. "What I should say... I think this life is to much for me [sic]. The drama, the articles, the harassment. The mean people who have nothing better to do."

Many fans of the two, while sad about the split, were happy they could remain friends.

"You two have to do what’s best for you. Don’t worry about what others say. After all, it’s better to have loved and lost , than never to have loved at all," one fan wisely commented.
