The stars of "Alaska: The Last Frontier" are gearing up for another season, and Jane Kilcher is getting ready by taking things into her own hands and making sure her family will be well-fed through the winter.
Jane is currently on a hunting trip with husband Atz Lee Kilcher, and shared some photos of the two out in the wild.
"Heading above the Arctic circle ! Cold camp til Saturday," Jane explained. The Kilchers live in Homer, AK, which is about 500 miles south of the Arctic Circle.
The reality star could be seen holding up a rifle in one shot, and posing next to Atz Lee in another. She captioned the pic, "Happy Hunting," although it's unclear what type of game they are after.
Fans of Jane offered support and well-wishes as she surveyed the land in search of a trophy.
"Hope you have a successful hunt. You’re a very strong lady and I admire your strength and courage I imagine it can’t be easy at times in winter," one fan wrote
Jane taking charge of the hunt is a big deal, especially since Atz Lee has been the big hunter in the family.
The newest trailer for the 9th season of "Alaska: The Last Frontier" showcases Jane's growing role in providing for the family and even going out for her first hunt without her husband.
"I'm ready to be a leader," Jane says in the preview.
"Alaska: The Last Frontier" follows the Kilcher family as they survive in the frigid wilderness.
The Kilchers are also relatives of singer, Jewel, and she has made occasional appearances on episodes of the Discovery show.
Season 9 starts October 6.
