Alanis Morissette Encourages Breastfeeding By Sharing Intimate Photo of Her and Her Son
Alanis Morissette and her husband Mario "Souleye" Treadway welcomed their son Winter Mercy to the world on August 8th. He's their third child, joining Ever Imre, 8, and daughter Onyx Solace, 3.
In an extremely intimate photo, Morissette is seen breastfeeding her child in honor of World Breastfeeding Month.
"Snug as a bug in a milky rug. #worldbreastfeedingmonth #notalwayseasypeasy," she captioned the image.
Alanis announced the birth of her third child on Aug. 13, posting to Instagram:"He’s here."
Back in June, the "Jagged Little Pill" singer opened up to Self magazine about suffering multiple miscarriages while pursuing her dream of having three children."I felt so much grief and fear," adding,
"I chased and prayed for pregnancy and learned so much about my body and biochemistry and immunity and gynecology through the process. It was a torturous learning and loss-filled and persevering process."
“Not singularly relying on myself to diagnose myself is key,” she said. “Because the first time around, I waited. Now this time, I’m going to wait four minutes. I have said to my friends, ‘I want you to not necessarily go by the words I’m saying.’ As best as I can, I’ll try to be honest, but I can’t personally rely on the degree of honesty if I reference the last two experiences.” she told the magazine.
