Alan Ritchson isn’t mincing his words. The star of Prime Video drama Reacher unloaded on former US president Donald Trump in a surprisingly candid interview.

Talking to THR, Ritchson says, “Trump is a rapist and a con man, and yet the entire Christian church seems to treat him like he’s their poster child and it’s unreal. I don’t understand it.”

Ritchson is a Christian himself, but his words might come as a shock to a section of his fanbase, despite them being consistent with previously expressed sentiments.

In 2020, he uploaded a pic on Instagram with him wearing a t-shirt that reads, "Arrest the cops who killed Breonna Taylor." Taylor, a black woman, was shot and killed in her apartment by police in Louisville, Kentucky during a botched drug raid.

In the same interview, Ritchson also slams the Catholic church. “It’s worth saying that the atrocities that are happening in the church that are being actively covered up, even to this day with people not being held accountable, is repulsive. I can’t for one second support the Catholic Church while there are still cardinals, bishops and priests being passed around with known pedophilic tendencies.”
