Alan Cumming and Jane Lynch have boarded the cast of Hulu’s  “The Bravest Knight,” joining returning stars T.R. Knight, Christine Baranski and Bobby Moynihan for the recently-greenlit second season of the trailblazing animated series among the first to foreground LGBTQ+ protagonists and to celebrate Queer families in the all-ages space.

Produced by Big Bad Boo Studios, and broadcast by Hulu and CBC Kids, the 2D animated series retraces the path of Sir Cedric, a onetime pumpkin farmer turned fearless hero. Now married to his own Prince Charming and father to a 10-year-old daughter, Cedric recounts his own exploits and feats of derring-do to his young daughter preparing to follow in his footsteps.

Set to air later this year, season two promises new adventures as the younger Cedric (T.R. Knight) and his troll companion Grunt (Bobby Moynihan) travel a fantasy kingdom earning their renown. Incoming actors Lynch and Cumming will respectively play Lug Lug, a vegetarian ogre, and the pompous schemer Sheriff Reginald.

Other retuning cast members include Wilson Cruz as the dashing Prince Andrew, and Christine Baranski as the fearsome Red Dragon menacing the kingdom. Millie Davis will take over the role of Nia, Cedric’s daughter. Rounding out the cast are Teri Polo as the friendly messenger raven Saylor, and Steven Weber as the dismissive Head Knight.

“We are thrilled by the show’s reception, and excited for the chance to reveal the next chapter of the story, brought to life by a remarkable cast,” says show creator Daniel Errico.

“I would have loved this show as a kid,” adds star T.R. Knight. “With all its humor and heart, I’m beyond proud to be a part of the adventures for season two!”

Directed by Shabnam Rezaei, the series has won praise for its inclusivity, winning the GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Kids and Family Programming in 2020. The first season boasted guests-stars like RuPaul, Wanda Sykes, Jazz Jennings, and AJ McLean, while several other stars and Queer icons are in negotiation to accompany Cumming and Lynch in season two.
