Al Roker won't stand for dad shaming
Hollywood mothers are often subjected to “mom shaming” on a regular basis thanks to social media — just ask Kim Kardashian, who was recently criticized for her sexy Instagram photos. Rarely, however, do we hear about “dad shaming.”
Al Roker became the exception. This week, the Today show host posted a sneaky parenting video on Twitter where he’s seen locking away phones and a Nintendo Switch in a safety box. His reasoning: His 15-year-old son, Nick, would stay up all night on the devices.
To keep Nick from staying up all night watching videos/games/texting, we would keep his gadgets in our room but he would sneak down at night to grab ‘em…til I came up with this li’l beauty pic.twitter.com/hebH4h8A7H

Most of Roker’s fans thought the idea was a genius parenting hack. One user even wrote, “well done,” and another said, “way to go, Al!” But one Twitter user responded with a jab at the TV host’s methods.
Too bad when you say shut it off, he doesn’t just listen to you…

Al wasted no time in clapping back, putting the dad shamer in his place.
Too bad you’re so judgemental https://t.co/IFwZpmlS3a

Other parents chimed right in, applauding Roker for standing up to the troll. They all agreed: There’s no room for judgmental parents.
I learned a long time ago that parenting is the hardest job in the world and we need to support each other. Every child is different and we are all just doing our best.

I have had the wonderful experience of teaching your daughter. If children are a reflection of parenting, Al you don’t need advice from this lady.

Must be nice to be the perfect parent so that you may judge others…..smh ….trust me your kid is off doing stuff you don’t know lmao

We do have to wonder, however, if Roker’s son is on his dad’s side like the rest of Twitter. His devices are still locked away after all.
