Al Roker celebrates his daughter's engagement, Savannah Guthrie sends her congratulations

Al Roker has a reason to celebrate – his eldest child, Courtney, is engaged!

The "Today" show weather anchor, 65, announced the exciting news Sunday on his Instagram account, sharing photos of his 32-year-old daughter showing off a square diamond ring while hugging fiance Wesley Laga.

"I was waiting to get the ok, but now that it’s on her insta, we are so thrilled the @djweslaga asked @ouichefcourtney to marry him," Roker wrote. "#shesaidyes Could not be more thrilled for these two."

Courtney is one of Roker's three children. He also has Leila, 21, and Nick, 18, with wife ABC News correspondent Deborah Roberts.

Roker's "Today" co-workers sent their congratulations to the couple in the comments of his Instagram post.

"WOW!!!!!!!!" wrote host Savannah Guthrie.

"Amazing!" West Coast host Natalie Morales wrote, adding "it's so nice to have good news during this time."

"Whoohooo!!!!!" weather correspondent Dylan Dreyer commented.

"So happy for all of you!!!" added contributor Alejandra Ramos.

The newly-engaged couple was supposed to be in Paris, Courtney revealed on Instagram. But with coronavirus shuttering travel for the time being, Laga proposed at home instead.

"Life sometimes takes you in a different direction for a reason," she wrote. "We should have been in Paris, but with how the world is at the moment, it was placed on hold. Instead, Wes brought Paris to me with the music, lights and live cam shot of the Eiffel Tower on our TV. I said yes to my best friend last night and I am over the moon! Thank you Wes for making me your partner in crime for life. I love you."

For the past month, Roker has been working from home, delivering weather reports from his house.

After a third hour "Today" show employee tested positive for coronavirus, Roker, along with fellow third-hour host Craig Melvin, took a day off before returning to the air from home. Guthrie and co-host Hoda Kotb assured viewers at the time that Roker and Melvin were doing well and that they were just aiming to be as cautious as possible. Melvin has since returned to the studio.

"On a personal note for this show, last night we learned that a colleague of ours on the third hour of 'Today' has tested positive for COVID-19, the novel coronavirus," Guthrie told viewers on March 16. "So out of an abundance of caution, Craig and Al have taken the morning off so we can trace their contacts and see what's going on with them. We promise to keep you posted. Both are fine right now. They feel good."
