Earlier this month, one of the legends of professional wrestling, Sting wrestled in his final match. It was a brutal tag team match against The Young Bucks at the AEW Revolution pay-per-view. Recently, one of his former rivals, AJ Styles shared his thoughts on the WWE Hall of Famer and his retirement.

As mentioned earlier, the Icon wrestled The Young Bucks at the Revolution PPV. He was one half of the AEW World Tag Team Champions along with Darby Allin. After a brutal showdown and being put through sheets of glass, the Champions prevailed. Sting retired with an undefeated record in All Elite Wrestling.

While speaking on the Battleground Podcast, the Phenomenal One, AJ Styles mentioned that Sting was one of his heroes and that he was always a nice guy. Styles also mentioned that he is glad that The Icon got to hang up his wrestling boots on his own terms and was not forced to do so.

“Oh man! They say never meet your heroes. I got to meet one of mine. Obviously, it was Sting. And he is such a great guy. He’s a nice guy. Has always been a nice guy. And man, it just made my day to meet somebody like that who I admired so much. And enjoyed watching. So, he has definitely earned is time in pro wrestling. And man! He went a lot longer than I’m going to. It’s awesome that he gets to end on his terms and not someone else’s. When you go out on an injury, that’s not the way you want to go out. So for him to end it when he wants to end it, I… I… that’s awesome,” AJ Styles said.
