Jedi girl power! Exclusive first look at Hasbro's new deluxe "Force FX Elite" Ahsoka Tano lightsaber
Ahsoka Tano is already one of the most popular Jedis in the far, far away galaxy thanks to her emotional seven-season journey on the recently concluded animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars. If the rumors are true, she’s about to make a whole bunch of new fans when she appears in live-action form (reportedly played by Rosario Dawson) in Season 2 of the Disney+ streaming hit The Mandalorian. In advance of the show’s Oct. 30 return, Hasbro is unveiling a new addition to its Force FX Elite Lightsaber line as part of the company’s virtual PulseCon... and it’s a blade fit for a Togruta.
Available in spring 2021 for $224.99, the Ahsoka Tano Force FX Elite Lightsaber is the company’s first three-color changing blade, switching between blue, green and yellow with the push of two buttons on the metal hilt.
You can also remove the Kyber crystal that powers the blade (well, along with three AA batteries) and display it next to the included lightsaber stand.
Besides changing color, the buttons will also activate sound effects that recreate the experience of being in battle, including a wall-cutting effect and an aurally satisfying lightsaber-on-lightsaber clash effect.
The Ahsoka Tano lightsaber is the marquee attraction of Hasbro’s PulseCon Star Wars reveals, but the toy giant also unveiled some spring 2021 additions to its “archive” line of 6-inch, photo-real Black Series action figures, starting with Grand Admiral Thrawn. Created by author Timothy Zahn for the bestselling (and now out of continuity) Thrawn Trilogy, the blue-skinned antagonist was worked back into Star Wars lore in the animated series Rebels.
Ahsoka’s old Clone Wars co-star Commander Cody is also getting the Archive Black Series treatment, and comes with a pair of blaster accessories.
Need another hero in your toy collection? Hasbro has you covered with two Empire Strikes Back-themed replicas of the original trilogy’s Butch and Sundance. Luke Skywalker comes in his ice world duds, and carries his blue lightsaber... which will vanish down a Cloud City reactor haft by the end of the movie, along with his hand.
Han Solo is also dressed for the frigid Hoth weather, and ready for battle with his trademark blaster. Be ready to put Luke’s lightsaber in his hand in case he needs to make an impromptu tauntaun overcoat.
Hasbro’s Star Wars Ahsoka Tano Force FX Elite Lightsaber and Black Series Archive figures will be available at major retailers in Spring 2021.
