Ahead of Virgin River Season 5 Part 2, One of the Show’s Biggest Mysteries Has Been Solved

Aside from the identity of Mel’s biological father, one of the biggest questions heading into Virgin River Season 5 Part 2 is whether or not Lizzie is actually pregnant, as she suspected in the finale of Part 1. Now, with three days left before the show’s Nov. 30 return, we have our answer.
Netflix on Monday released the first 10 minutes of Part 2, which includes confirmation that Lizzie and Denny are in fact expecting a child. The hiccup? Lizzie’s mom is in town for the holidays, and she has yet to hear about this new development in her daughter’s life.

“I just wanted to have a nice Christmas with her before she starts doubting my decisions again,” Lizzie tells Hope, who insists that she tell her mother ASAP.
“It’ll be a much worse blow if she finds out some other way,” Hope tells her, laying the dramatic foreshadowing on nice and thick.

“I guess if I’m going to be a mom, I should probably stop being afraid to talk to mine,” Lizzie says, deciding to tell her after the big Christmas play. (Come on, who wouldn’t be in a good mood after watching Muriel sing and dance?)
Also revealed in Tudum’s sneak peak: Mel is determined to track down her biological father, Jack is determined to chop down the perfect Christmas tree, and Brie and Mike’s happy holiday is interrupted by a grumpy guest bearing plenty of family drama.
