“AGT: Fantasy League” continued on January 22 with the fourth set of 10 performances in “Qualifiers 4.” The new spin-off series marks the return of former judge Mel B as she joins Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel in a head-to-head competition to mentor an all star ‘AGT’ act through the season to victory. Terry Crews is back once again for hosting duties.

Over eight weeks of shows, the judges’ Dream Teams of 10 will be narrowed down until only one stands as the newest AGT champion and takes home the $250,000 cash prize. That act will also give their mentor the first coach’s win in AGT history. In the four qualifiers, 10 acts perform with one receiving the week’s Golden Buzzer and five others advancing to the next round based on an audience vote.

More from GoldDerby

In “Qualifiers 1” on January 1, Mel gave her Golden Buzzer to the roller skating siblings Billy and Emily England in a steal from Simon’s team to her’s, sending them straight through to “The Finals.” The five acts that advanced to the “Semi-Finals” from that qualifier were: V.Unbeatable, Shadow Ace, Kseniya Simonova, and Kristy Sellars from Team Howie and Kodi Lee from Team Simon.

In “Qualifiers 2” on January 8, Howie defied the pleas of Heidi and stole Ramadhani Brothers from her team with his Golden Buzzer. The fives acts that moved on to the “Semi-Finals” were: Vardanyan Brothers and Sheldon Riley from Team Mel, Grace Good from Team Heidi, Adrian Stoica & Hurricane from Team Simon, and Preacher Lawson from Team Howie.

In “Qualifiers 3” on January 15, Heidi became the first judge to use the Golden Buzzer on her own act, sending Sofie Dossi through to “The Finals.” The five acts that moved on to the “Semi-Finals” were: Chapel Hart, Loren Allred, and The Pack Drumline from Team Simon and Enkh-Erdene and Yu Hojin from Team Heidi.

Monday night’s fourth qualifier featured new performances from Cillian O’Connor, Musa Motha, and Sainted from Team Simon, Brian Justin Crum, Ghetto Kids, and Travis Japan from Team Mel, Aidan Bryant, The Clairvoyants, and Darci Lynne from Team Heidi, and Anna DeGuzman from Team Howie.

Below, read our minute-by-minute “AGT: Fantasy League” recap of episode 4 to find out what happened Monday, January 22 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT. Then be sure to sound off in the comments section about your favorite acts on NBC’s reality TV show and who you think will ultimately become the newest AGT champion.

8:03 p.m. – Ahead of Aidan Bryant’s first performance, Heidi was concerned that Simon was going to use the Golden Buzzer and steal her first pick and the reigning “AGT: All-Stars” winner from the draft. Afterward, Mel called Aidan “endless and smooth and seamless” and “perfection.” Howie said that his performance “moved him one step closer to the win” and Simon sees him as a “natural born performer” that receives 10s across the board at the Olympics. As he’s said to other champions before, Simon gave him props for putting his title on the line by coming back and then respected his wish to remain on Team Heidi by not using the Buzzer on him.

8:13 p.m. – Team Mel hit the stage for the first time of the night with Travis Japan, the semi-finalist entertainment group from season 17 that received a red X buzzer from Howie. This time around Howie left his hand off the buzzer and Heidi thinks they “totally improved” from the last time they were on the show. Simon acknowledged that they “aren’t the best singers” and it wasn’t the best song, but he calls them “old school” and loves their act because they make him feel happy.

8:22 p.m. – Simon said that he chose Cillian O’Connor for his team because he’s a magic act that his son likes. Cillian was a third place finisher on “Britain’s Got Talent” season 16 and Simon advised him that tonight he should focus on story and music in order to make his act stand out. Howie called Cillian “truly amazing” as a “magician and human being.” Heidi appreciated that he brought a “whole show” to the stage, not just an act. Simon added that he sees “something special” in Cillian and congratulated him on a great act tonight.

8:34 p.m. – Mel B’s next artist to take the stage was Brian Justin Crum, a singer that feels like this is his chance for redemption following an imperfect final performance as a finalist on season 11. Tonight he sang “Forever Young” and wowed Heidi when he “let loose” with his voice. Simon called him a “great singer,” but thinks there are better songs he could have chosen. Mel said that they discussed bringing his performance back to “just him and his voice” and that’s exactly what he did.

8:43 p.m. – Mel returned with her third act of the night, the “Britain’s Got Talent” viral act Ghetto Kids. The thing that Mel appreciates about them is their energy and sassiness and so she urged them to bring all of that to the stage tonight. Howie told them that he’s been following them for a long time because they always put a smile on everybody’s face. Heidi called them “adorable” and she loves “the comedy within the dancing.” Simon said that they’re “just simply brilliant.”

8:54 p.m. – Ana DeGuzman was the runner-up on season 18 of “AGT,” the highest placing female magician in series history. Howie knew that his job working with her this time around is to settle her nerves and get her to be “funny and real.”  Tonight she brought Mel and Terry on stage to assist with her slight of hand act. Being up close, Mel thought that she was “brilliant” and then Simon thinks she does magic in her “own unique, cool way.”

9:06 p.m. – Simon brought Sainted on to his team because he was shocked that they didn’t make it to the final round of season 18. For this performance he knew that they needed a big song and so they worked really hard to get “Purple Rain” cleared. In case it didn’t, they rehearsed two different songs, but in the end they did receive clearance the night before. Their gospel rendition of the song got the audience and judges on their feet for a standing ovation. Howie said that they “stepped it up beyond” and Mel was frustrated that Simon has such a “brilliant” act on his team. Simon explained that he connected with them from their first audition and tonight they weren’t just good, they were “incredible.” Because he believes in them so much, he used the Golden Buzzer to extend his love for them straight to “The Finals.”

9:20 p.m. – “AGT” legend Darci Lynne returned to the show once again since first appearing on the show in 2017 at the age of 12. She won that season, but this time she arrives as a part of Team Heidi and set on showing a new “2.0” side of her that is “more than ventriloquist.” Darci’s concept for her new performance was to step away from her puppet Petunia and play the guitar while still maintaining the essence of her ventriloquism. Heidi said she’s glad that she “didn’t abandon” the puppet “all the way” because that’s how they fell in love with her. Mel liked the “simplicity” of the ventriloquism and so this performance was “overshadowed.” Simon agreed with Mel because there’s few people in the world who does what she can do with ventriloquism and that’s her “unique selling point.”

9:32 p.m. – The Clairvoyants were another act that finished as runner ups on their original season, but they were still able to create their own Vegas show and tour the world with their act. Tonight as a part of Team Heidi, they were able to correctly predict the random numbers that the judges would pick, all of which associated back to the date of their original audition. Mel said they “make it look so easy” despite it being “extraordinary.” Howie vocalized his disappointment that they’re not on his team and Simon referred to them as “the best in the world” with what they do and they deserve to be in the final round.

9:44 p.m. – The final act of the night was Musa Motha, but he had to perform virtually from London because he was not able to clear the paperwork he needed in order to make it to the States in time. Simon recalled that with Musa first appeared on “Britain’s Got Talent,” the audience demanded that they give him a Golden Buzzer and kept cheering until the judges all agreed to hit it together. Once again he received a roaring response from the crowd and Simon pointed out that some of them were even in tears. Simon said he has “so much respect” for him as an artist and person. Howie thinks his story is so unbelievable and yet he reaches “such heights” with his dance. Mel highlighted his “control and technique.”

9:55 p.m. – Following the audience vote, the five acts that advanced to the “Semi-Finals” were: Musa Motha, Ghetto Kids, Ana DeGuzman, Aidan Bryant, and Darci Lynne.
