Agora Chorale, Whiteford High School Choir offering holiday concert

MONROE — Two area ensembles will present a Christmas concert Dec. 6.

The Agora Chorale at Monroe County Community College and the Whiteford High School Choir will offer a vocal performance at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 6 in the Meyer Theater, La-Z-Boy Center on MCCC’s main campus, 1555 S. Raisinville Road. Admission is free. The public is welcome.

The WHS Choir, under the direction of Todd Schreiber, will take the stage first to perform “Who Would Imagine a King?” by Mervyn Warren and Hallerin Hilton Hill; “Rejoice and Be Exceedingly Glad,” arranged by Derric Johnson and Ted Ricketts; “Winter Wonderland” byDick Smith and Felix Bernard; and “Joy to the World,” arranged by Johnson.

Under the direction of Jonathan Lunneberg and accompanied by pianist Nancy Honaker, the 23-member MCCC Agora Chorale will perform “I Have Had Singing” by Ron Jeffers; “River, Sing Your Song” by Eugene Butler; “There Is A Balm In Giliad,” arranged by Winnagene Hatch; A Babe is Born” by Gustav Holst; and Sussex “Carol,” arranged by Elaine Hagenberg.

Both choirs and the audience will end with a rendition to “The Twelve Days of Christmas” by Frederic Austin.
