The official Marvel Studios X account posted and then quickly deleted a potential new title change for the upcoming Agatha spin-off series.

On X, the official Marvel Studios account posted an image that seemingly gives the upcoming WandaVision spin-off series another new title, Agatha: The Lying Witch With Great Wardrobe. The title is a reference to C.S. Lewis’ The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe.

Approximately ten minutes after the post went live, it was then deleted, making it unclear whether or not the Agatha series is truly getting another title change.

How many times has the Agatha series switched its title?

In November 2021, Marvel announced that the upcoming Agatha spin-off series would be titled Agatha: House of Harkness. It was renamed to Agatha: Coven of Chaos in July 2022 before then being retitled to Agatha: Darkhold Diaries in September 2022.

According to a Variety article from January 2024, “A source says [the name changes are] are less a sign of indecision on Marvel’s part and more a signal that the show will embrace Agatha’s penchant for shenanigans, so it’s safest to assume the title of this show will at the very least be Agatha.”

Agatha serves as a spin-off to WandaVision, which premiered on Disney+ in 2021. Kathryn Hahn is reprising her role as Agatha Harkness in the series, while the cast also includes Aubrey Plaza, Joe Locke, Patti LuPone, Sasheer Zamata, Ali Ahn, Debra Jo Rupp, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, and Emma Caulfield.

The forthcoming Disney+ series comes from head writer and director Jac Schaeffer, who also created WandaVision. Schaeffer additionally serves as an executive producer alongside Kevin Feige.

Marvel’s Agatha series, which will consist of nine episodes, does not have an official premiere date at this time; however, it’s expected to arrive on Disney+ in late 2024 as part of Phase Five of the MCU.
