Aespa makes English-language track debut with ‘Life’s Too Short’

After performing the song for the first time at Coachella’s main stage earlier this year, Aespa officially dropped their first English-language track, “Life’s Too Short.”

Part of the pre-release for their upcoming sophomore mini-album “Girls,” the music video for “Life’s Too Short” sees Aespa members Winter, Karina, Ningning and Giselle in a glossy early 2000s style, crooning about living their best lives while ignoring naysayers and the toxicity of people and social media. An earlier pre-release called “Illusion” surprised fans at the beginning of this month.

Aespa’s album “Girls,” their first project of 2022, is out on July 8. The album will include title track “Girls,” “Life’s Too Short” in both English and Korean, “Illusion,” and previous digitally released hits “Dreams Come True,” “Forever” and “Black Mamba.”

The SM Entertainment talents hope to follow up the success of their first mini-album “Savage” from last October.

While it is the group’s first English-language track, the girls are no strangers to international audiences. The group made their in-person U.S. debut at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade last year, performed virtually on U.S. television shows like “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” performed live for “The Nick Cannon Show” and made an appearance in a comedic bit on “The Daily Show with Trevor Noah.”
