After previously postponing a month’s worth of shows on their “Peace Out” farewell tour, Aerosmith have now nixed all of the remaining tour dates, revealing that singer Steven Tyler’s “vocal injury is more serious than initially thought.”

Aerosmith’s final tour kicked off in Philadelphia at the beginning of September, but only lasted three shows before Tyler’s vocal issues sidelined the band. Originally, it was announced that the 75-year-old frontman would need 30 days rest, pushing a number of dates to early 2024, but now all shows have been postponed until further notice.

A new statement posted Friday morning on the band’s social pages reads as follows:

“To our fans: Unfortunately, Steven’s vocal injury is more serious than initially thought. His doctor has confirmed that in addition to the damage to his vocal cords, he fractured his larynx which requires ongoing care.

He is receiving the best medical treatment available to ensure his recovery is swift, but given the nature of a fracture, he is being told patience is essential.

As a result, all the currently scheduled PEACE OUT shows must be postponed to sometime in 2024, with new dates to be announced as soon as we know more.”

Tyler himself, added, “I am heartbroken to not be out there with Aerosmith, my brothers and the incredible Black Crowes, rocking with the best fans in the world. I promise we will be back as soon as we can!”

Tickets for the affected dates will be honored for the rescheduled shows, once those are announced. Fans who cannot make the new dates can get a full refund at the point of purchase.
