Aerosmith Kicks Off Las Vegas Residency with Miranda Lambert (and Her Husband!) in the Audience

Aerosmith dialed up some sweet emotion for their fans in kicking off their Las Vegas residency, Deuces Are Wild, on Saturday night.

While the band has no shortage of personality, Aerosmith mainly stuck to the music at the opening night of their show, keeping the chatter to a minimum while peppering in some fan favorites from the band’s very early days with many of their most well-known songs.

The show, which began with a lengthy video discussing the history of Aerosmith, amounts to an audible history of the group’s five decades together.

In the case of “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing,” the rock icons didn’t hold back, as they were joined by a four-piece string section, all while dramatic smoke filled the stage. They took it back to the ‘70s with “Toys In the Attic,” riffing through the song while oversized inflatable toys descended from the ceiling.

The songs spanned the ’80s, ’90s, ’00s. The setlist was also comprised of: “Train Kept A-Rollin,'” “Mama Kin,” “Back in the Saddle,” “Kings and Queens,” “Sweet Emotion,” “Hangman Jury,” “Seasons of Wither,” “Stop Messin’ Around,” “Cryin’,” “Livin’ on the Edge,” “Love in an Elevator” and “Dude (Looks Like a Lady).”

This, ladies and gentlemen, was an Aerosmith biography lesson.

As expected, the opening night also bought out several stars, as Miranda Lambert was spotted in the crowd with her husband Brendan McLoughlin. The country star is in town for Sunday’s ACM Awards, where she is nominated for female vocalist of the year and is set to perform.

Also at the Aerosmith show was Property Brothers star Jonathan Scott and legendary songwriter Diane Warren, who has written songs for Aerosmith and frontman Steven Tyler over the years.

Aerosmith, though, didn’t rat out any celebrities as they rocked to the sold-out crowd at Park Theater.

Well, Tyler did single out one guy who was sitting down. “Get up!” Tyler cried out to the man seated on the side of the stage. “This is Vegas!”

And for the encore, the band performed “Dream On” and “Walk This Way.”
