Update: Aerosmith has announced its Peace Out shows will be postponed into 2024 with new dates shared as soon as the band is able.

"Unfortunately, Steven’s vocal injury is more serious than initially thought. His doctor has confirmed that in addition to the damage to his vocal cords, he fractured his larynx which requires ongoing care," the band said in a statement posted to Facebook. "He is receiving the best medical treatment available to ensure his recovery is swift, but given the nature of a fracture, he is being told patience is essential."

All previously purchased tickets will be honored for the rescheduled dates, and refunds will be available for those unable to attend once those dates are announced. Fans with questions regarding refunds should reach out to their point of purchase.

Aerosmith's 40-date final tour will begin Sept. 2 in Philadelphia and snake across the continent before ending in Montreal on Jan. 26.

The band has regularly performed in Indianapolis, including when frontman Steven Tyler delivered a now-infamous rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner" at the 2001 running of the Indianapolis 500.

The Indianapolis concert date precedes another 50th anniversary and farewell tour stop, as Kiss will celebrate similar milestones at Gainbridge on Nov. 25.
