Aerosmith Announce Rescheduled Dates for Peace Out Farewell Tour

Aerosmith have announced rescheduled dates for their Peace Out farewell tour, which was suspended in September 2023 because Steven Tyler fractured his larynx. This new leg kicks off Sept. 20 in Pittsburgh and wraps up Feb. 26 in Buffalo, New York. They’ll once again be joined by the Black Crowes.
The band announced plans to wrap their career with one final tour in May 2023, but they played a mere three shows before Tyler severely hurt his larynx. “I am heartbroken to not be out there with Aerosmith, my brothers, and the incredible Black Crowes, rocking with the best fans in the world,” he wrote in a message to fans. “I promise we will be back as soon as we can!”

The initial dates of the Peace Out farewell tour mixed familiar hits like “Sweet Emotion,” “Dream On,” “Rag Doll,” and “Walk This Way” with rarities like “Adam’s Apple” and “Bright Light Fright.” As has been the case for much of the past few years, John Douglas filled in for Joey Kramer on drums. “[Kramer’s] heart is in the right place, but, listen, playing the drums is an athletic event,” Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry told 97.1 FM The Drive in May 2023. “And there’s a certain point where you’re just kind of, like … every joint starts to give out, man. So at this point we’re not thinking he’s gonna be there.”
During the hiatus from the tour, a lawsuit accusing Tyler of assaulting a model in the Seventies was dismissed by a New York judge. He’s still facing a suit in California for allegedly abusing a 16-year-old girl in the Seventies, but a Los Angeles judge ruled he couldn’t face emotional distress claims linked to the 1997 Aerosmith book Walk This Way: The Autobiography of Aerosmith and Tyler’s 2011 book Does the Noise in My Head Bother You?: A Rock ‘N’ Roll Memoir because the statute of limitations had expired. But Tyler still faces possible distress damages over charges of sexual assault and sexual battery.
