Adrien Brody to star in Stephen King-based 'gothic horror' TV series Jerusalem's Lot
Adrien Brody has found his own blood-curdling Stephen King tale to call his own. The actor, a favorite of director Wes Anderson, will star in a TV series adaptation of the author’s short story “Jerusalem’s Lot” for Epix.
The tale was first published in King’s 1978 collection Night Shift, but it was later re-released as part of an illustrated edition of Salem’s Lot and is seen as a prequel of sorts to King’s famous vampire story. It’s told through a series of letters and diary entries, mainly from Captain Charles Boone.
In Jerusalem’s Lot, Brody will star as Boone, who relocates his three children to Preacher’s Corners, Maine, his ancestral home, after his wife dies at sea. Over the course of Epix’s 10-episode season, the character will be forced to face his family’s secrets and fight to end the darkness that has plagued them for generations.
Jason and Peter Filardi serve as executive producers and showrunners on Jerusalem’s Lot, which is also executive produced by Donald De Line (Wayward Pines).

We’re thrilled to be the home to this incredible show.”
Filming on Jerusalem’s Lot is set to begin in May 2020 in Halifax, Nova Scotia ahead of a planned-for fall premiere later that year.
It’s hard to think of which of King’s works hasn’t been adapted for the screen yet. This year saw The Shining sequel Doctor Sleep on the big screen and In the Tall Grass on the small screen, HBO is just about ready to premiere its TV series based on The Outsider in the new year, and TV shows based on The Stand and The Institute are in the works.
Brody, whose last television role was on Peaky Blinders and last screen appearance was in the 2018 film Airstrike, will be seen in the new year in Anderson’s film The French Dispatch.
