Adriana Lima and Turkish Writer Boyfriend Metin Hara Split

Adriana Lima and her Turkish writer beau, Metin Hara, have called it quits after a year and a half, PEOPLE confirms.

The Victoria’s Secret model veteran, 37, and the self-help guru, 36, were first spotted out and about together in July 2017 on board a yacht in Bodrum, Turkey. They held hands, smooched and packed on the PDA during their romantic getaway, and ever since, Hara has been very public with their love on Instagram.

Hara shared the exact moment the two met back in June 2017 with a selfie writing, “Happy to meet such a humble soul. Planning on inspiring projects. Stay wild, stay free…”

Throughout their relationship, he shared other sweet selfies and intimate photos of the Brazilian model with heartfelt captions.

For their one-year anniversary, he posted a photo of Lima lying in bed writing: “If you’re in your bed and I am in mine, one of us is in the wrong place… It has been exactly one year that I’ve met you… You’ve made me the luckiest man on earth… Happy birthday my angel. My wise woman, my sanctuary… I am on my way home…”

He also shared candid photos of Lima throughout their time together.

The last time he shared a photo of he and the model together was in October 2018. He captioned the selfie, “True courage for a man is to love her scars.”

Lima announced her retirement from Victoria’s Secret in November after 20 years with the lingerie brand. She celebrated her last VS catwalk with a fancy Brazilian dinner at Berimbau do Brasil in New York with her daughters, Valentina, 8, and Sienna. At the time of her retirement, she announced that she’s focusing her time on projects with women empowerment at the core.

“I’m looking forward to supporting women and being connected to different projects which support women around the world,” she told PEOPLE.
