Adrian Lester To Direct Episodes Of ‘Riviera’; Sky Drama From Neil Jordan

EXCLUSIVE: Along with co-starring in Sky Atlantic’s upcoming drama Riviera, Adrian Lester will direct two episodes of the sun-soaked thriller. Currently filming in the south of France, Riviera is created by Neil Jordan with a cast led by Julia Stiles and Lena Olin.

Lester has already directed for the BBC series Hustle, in which he also starred. He also recently toplined the BBC mini Undercover, opposite Sophie Okonedo, which kicks off Stateside tomorrow on BBC America.

Riviera is based on an idea by Paul McGuinness and boasts a cast of morally ambiguous characters, complex relationships and audacious excess. Stiles plays Georgina, a Midwestern girl turned smart, resourceful wife of the billionaire Constantine Clios. After just a year of marriage, her immaculate new life is blown apart when her husband is killed in an explosion aboard the yacht of a Russian oligarch and arms dealer. Believing there to be more to the tragedy, she sets out to uncover what happened.

Iwan Rheon (Game Of Thrones), Dimitri Leonidas (The Monuments Men), Roxanne Duran (White Ribbon), Phil Davis (Vera Drake), Amr Waked (Lucy), and Igal Naor (The Honourable Woman) also star.

The show is due for air on Sky Atlantic in the UK next year and will also be available across Ireland, Italy, Germany and Austria.
