This adorable little girl's Halloween costume is going totally viral

Halloween is that special day every year that kids — and grownups — can be exactly who or what they want. This year, creative costume ideas include Beyoncé, Joanna and Chip Gaines, and even Donald Trump. However, one little girl has become a viral sensation for her costume choice: A donut.

When Layla Weldon’s mom took her to pick out a Halloween costume, little Layla could have gone a more traditional route, picking a Disney princess or some other fictional character. But, the 3-year-old made very clear that she wanted to dress up as her favorite food.

Her mom, Brittany Green tells Yahoo Lifestyle, “She is obsessed with Krispy Kreme donuts so when we went to TJMaxx to shop she saw the costume and instantly fell in love,” she says. “She refused to leave the store if I didn’t buy the costume for her.”

Layla’s donut costume is adorable and she looks excited and overjoyed in the photos. The Twitterverse is also just as excited as she is about her Halloween look, her post has over 170,000 likes and more than 35,000 retweets.

The Virginia mom never thought her daughter’s Halloween costume would garner so much attention, she says she is overwhelmed but very happy. “I’m glad everybody loves it and it’s bringing joy to people,” she says.

Now, other people are sharing their food costumes with Layla and Brittney on Twitter.
