The Duchess of Sussex previously said her perfect Valentine's Day would be spent "in Paris" — but she's somewhere else this year!

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are going to have another Valentine's Day to remember.

This year, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will spend the romantic holiday in Canada for the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025's One Year to Go celebrations. Valentine's Day marks the kickoff of the three-day visit, where the couple will join members of the participating nations' Winter Training Camp, which provides an opportunity for Invictus Games team managers, coaches and competitors to experience winter adaptive sports ahead of the next cycle of the event next year.

Not only are Vancouver and Whistler close to Harry, 39, and Meghan, 41, following their move to Montecito, California, but Vancouver is also a special spot for their family. Before stepping back from their royal roles in 2020, they spent their first holiday season as a family of three in 2019 with their son, Prince Archieon Vancouver Island.

Meghan expressed her love for Valentine's Day several times on her now-defunct lifestyle blog The Tig before meeting Prince Harry.

"Hook, line and sinker, I am such a sucker for Valentine's Day," she revealed on the blog in 2015.

Speaking about the importance of self-love, especially on the holiday, she wrote: "I think you need to be your own Valentine."

She went on to describe how her Suits co-stars Sarah Rafferty and Gina Torres helped remind her to be good to herself during a time when she was feeling particularly down and out.

"Last season I was chatting with my Suits sister wives, Sarah and Gina, and was in some sort of funk, bemoaning something that was so futile I don't even remember what it was now. But I was faaaaaar from showing [myself] self love," she wrote. "One of them stopped me — truth be told I can't remember which one because they both impart their sage wisdom with me on the daily — but one of the stylish wise ones stopped me and said, 'Hey! That's my friend you're talking about. Be nice to her.' "

"They were protecting me from myself," she continued. "From my own criticism, and my own self doubt. They were reminding me to treat myself as well as I treat those closest to me. To be my own valentine."

"This Valentine's Day I will be with friends, running amock through the streets of New York, likely imbibing some cocktail that's oddly pink, and jumping over icy mounds in my new shoes through the salted snowy streets of the West Village," she noted in the post. "But those shoes, by the way, were my gift to myself. Because I've worked hard, because I'm not going to wait for someone to buy me the things I covet (nor do I want to), and because I want to treat myself as well as I treat those dearest to me. Because I am my own funny Valentine."

Meghan also showed off her romantic side in another Valentine's Day blog: “Without fail, every February 14th, I wake up feeling like I’m immersed in a Robert Doisneau photo, waiting with bated breath to be dipped into a kiss. This is all happening in black and white, of course. And in Paris, if I had my way," she wrote. "But delusions of francophile grandeur aside, Valentine’s Day is special wherever you happen to find yourself. And in terms of gifts, be it breakfast in bed, a sweet love note, or a single flower, it really is the thought that counts.”

In their interview with Oprah Winfrey that aired a month later, the couple revealed that they were expecting a baby girl. Princess Lilibet was born that June.
