Adele Sobs on Stage Over Concert-Goer Whose Wife Died Before Getting to See Her Show

When Adele sings, her powerful vocals often cause fans to be overwhelmed with emotion. But recently, a concert-goer caused the "Set Fire to the Rain" singer to sob on stage.

Adele paused one of her Las Vegas residency shows to draw attention to a man who showed her a photo of his wife, who died before getting to see her Weekends With Adele show. In a fan-captured video shared via X (formerly Twitter), the English singer could barely explain the situation without breaking down in tears.

At the beginning of the clip, Adele sings "When We Were Young" while walking near crowd members. A man held up his phone to show her a photo, although she didn't realize at the time the significance.

"When I walk through the crowd, " Adele later said on stage before taking a deep breath and looking up to avoid crying. "I wish you could see what I can see. Because I know I talk to a few people every night. But then I see little stories of people happening."

After Adele again took a breath to collect herself, she continued: "And there was a man. He's just there. Can you see him holding his phone up? I think that's his wife on his phone. And I don't think she's here."

"And it just really moved me," she added before addressing the man directly. "It looks like you're here on your own. And I just, I'm so, so sorry. I'm so sorry for your loss. And I'm so sorry I didn't realize what you were showing me until I was already over there."

In the comments, X users reacted to the heartbreaking moment and Adele's emotional response. One person wrote, "That’s just super sad. No one knows tomorrow… do that thing now."

Another X user commented, "Wow, stories like that remind us to cherish every moment with our loved ones, it's truly moving."

Meanwhile, another fan wrote, "Just goes to show how genuine and beautiful a person Adele is."
