Adele Roberts has been voted out of The Jungle, making her the first I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here contestant to be eliminated in the nineteenth series of the show.

The Radio 1 DJ and former Big Brother housemate failed to gain immunity after a series of gory Bushtucker Trials, leaving her open to the public vote alongside Roman Kemp and Kate Garraway.

Following her elimination, the 40-year-old told the show’s presenters Ant and Dec: "I am just amazed that I lasted that long.

"I am glad that I lasted without saying 'Im A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here', I felt like I was going to say it many times."

Roberts even managed to put a positive spin on being the first voted out, saying: "I feel like at least I'm first at something, I'll take it, it's fine.

"I went in the jungle to challenge myself and not be scared of things. I thought: 'Give it a go and see what happens.'

"Without a doubt, I'm stronger than I realised and there's so many things I can do it's just the way that you view things.

"I won't be scared of a spider in the bath now."

She also opened up about feeling close to Caitlyn Jenner. She said: "We are both part of the LGBTQ community, there's stuff that we know about each other without even having to say anything."

One of the trials Roberts faced in recent days was Sickening Circus, which saw contestants go head-to-head downing gruesome cocktails which consisted of, amongst other things, crocodile penis, and fish eyes.

Coming out of the challenges on the losing end, Roberts faced the public vote alongside Kemp and Garraway.

Roberts joins Noel Edmonds (2018) and Shappi Khorsandi (2017) as recent first contestants eliminated from The Jungle.
