Adele Reveals 4 New Open-Air Shows in 'Purpose-Built' 80,000-Seat Arena: 'Exciting Summer'

The 'Easy on Me' singer will be performing in Europe for the first time since 2016

Adele has some exciting news.

On Wednesday, the "Hello" musician, 35, announced she'll be performing four open-air summer shows in an 80,000-seat arena built specifically for her. The only downside for her U.S. fans is that all the shows will be taking place in Munich, Germany.

Adele will perform the shows, based at Munich Messe, on Aug. 2 and 3 before returning for two more on Aug. 9 and 10, 2024.

The bespoke arena will feature a mix of seated and standing areas.

Adele's announcement comes as she continues to perform the last leg of her highly acclaimed Weekends With Adele Las Vegas residency, which runs through June 15.

The Munich shows will mark the first time Adele — who performed to a 65,000-strong crowd in London's Hyde Park in July 2022 — has played in mainland Europe since 2016.

The "Easy on Me" hitmaker wrote on Instagram of the exclusive European performances: "So a few months ago I got a call about a summer run of shows. I’ve been content as anything with my shows in London’s Hyde Park and my residency in Vegas, so I hadn’t had any other plans."

She added, "However, I was too curious to not follow up and indulge in this idea — a one off, bespoke pop-up stadium designed around whatever show I want to put on? Ohh!? Pretty much slap bang in the middle of Europe? In Munich? That’s a bit random, but still fabulous!"

Adele also referenced the upcoming European soccer championship kicking off in Germany in June 2024, as well as the 2024 Olympics in Paris from Jul. 26 through Aug. 11.

The British star continued, "Right after the Euros? Come on England! With the Olympics next door? Go on Simone [Biles]! And some of my favorite artists playing shows too? Why… YES!!

"I haven’t played in Europe since 2016! I couldn’t think of a more wonderful way to spend my summer and end this beautiful phase of my life and career with shows closer to home during such an exciting summer. Guten Tag babes x."

Ticket registration is open now at Adele.com and will close on Feb. 5 at 12 p.m. ET.

Registered fans will be able to purchase tickets on Feb. 7 at 4 a.m. ET. The general ticket sale is then set for Feb. 9 at 4 a.m. ET.
