Adele "set fire" to the internet with a meme of her sitting courtside last year — now she's telling the story behind the image.

During her Weekends with Adele residency in Las Vegas on Saturday night, the "Easy on Me" singer, 35, opened up about her mood at that moment during a 2022 NBA All-Stars game, per a fan-recorded TikTok video.

"Do you remember that viral meme of me looking like I don’t give a flying f---? I’d like to give some context to that meme. I know it sounds crazy, but I really don’t like being famous, right? So obviously, I know I’m sitting courtside at a basketball game, whatever. But Rich [Paul] was working the room and, you know, talking to other players and people. I was fine. I didn’t mind. I was just there on my own, looking for Michael Jordan, to be honest with you," Adele told the audience.

She continued: "So, the people with the camera came over and asked me twice. They were like, ‘Do you mind if we film you? Can we put you on the screen?’ I said, ‘Please don’t. I just canceled [my] Las Vegas [residency]. I really don’t wanna be [on camera]. They came back and they filmed me."

Adele also explained why her lips look like they have filler in them that night.

"I have naturally big lips…I don’t need filler," the 16-time Grammy winner said. "The reason I looked like a different person was because I was sulking. Because I was like, ‘These motherf---ers have come back and are filming me against my will.’"

Adele said she thought they were just airing the recording of her "in the room" — not on TV.

"I just wanted to give some context. Because I was ignoring looking everywhere but in the camera. I was just very annoyed because I asked not to be filmed. Also my face is very memeable. I can’t help it," she teased.

Adele's stage banter has become a fixture of her residency performances at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.

During her residency concert on Feb. 10, the "Hello" artist showed her support for Taylor Swift and said she's made the NFL “more enjoyable to watch."

She also came to the "I Can See You" singer's defense against those criticizing her attendance of games in support of boyfriend Travis Kelce — even sharing who she wanted to win the 2024 Super Bowl, per a fan-posted video on X (formerly known as Twitter.)

"I think I want the Chiefs to win,” Adele said in the clip, prompting the audience to cheer.
