Adele breaks down in tears as she reveals sex of a couple's baby: 'That's so emotional'

Adele had a career first over the weekend as she revealed the sex of a couple's baby.

Couple Chris Dare and his wife Shantelle held up a sign at the English singer's Weekends with Adele residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace that read: "Adele will you do our gender reveal?"

The "Easy on Me" singer, 35, invited the pair, who flew in from New York, up to the stage to oblige. "No one's really allowed signs in here. I'm just obsessed that you got one in. I've never done this," Adele said into the microphone, according to a video shared on Dare's TikTok Monday.

Shantelle revealed she was 18 weeks along in her pregnancy but the couple has had the baby's sex in a sealed envelope since she hit the 12-week mark. They saved the announcement with the hope that Adele would take notice.

Adele took a seat at the edge of the stage as she carefully opened the envelope, before announcing into her microphone: "Shantelle and Chris are having a baby boy!"

"That was amazing," she said, before breaking down in tears. "I'm so happy for you! That's so emotional, oh my God."

Through sobs, Adele asked the couple, "If and when I get pregnant will you do my gender reveal for the show? I'll invite you back."

"I'm so honored to do that. That was so lovely," she added. "Good luck, congratulations! I've got an 11-year-old boy and woohoo you're in for a ride."

Adele and her ex-husband Simon Kolecki share their 11-year-old son Angelo.

The "Rolling in the Deep" singer, who is currently dating sports agent Rich Paul, has been vocal about her desire to have more children.

In July 2022, she shared on BBC's "Desert Island Discs," that she "definitely would like a couple more kids. It would be wonderful if we can. If not, I've got Angelo. I just want to be happy."

Adele added that motherhood changed her in "every single way." "Good, bad, strange. I love being a mom," she said.

The Grammy winner reiterated her thoughts on children in an interview with Elle in September. "I definitely want more kids. I’m a homemaker and I’m a matriarch, and a stable life helps me with my music," she said.
