We love a good reboot, especially one that revises the past (and by revises the past, we mean casts women in the lead roles instead of men). New streaming platform Quibi is out today, and among their exciting new slate of content is a Diane Kruger-led reboot of 1994’s Swimming with Sharks. The original film starred Kevin Spacey in Kruger’s role, but this TV reboot is turning the tables. In this fresh take on the ’90s drama about the ruthless world of the Hollywood studio system, Kruger will play the power-mad studio exec, while Mad Men‘s Kiernan Shipka will play the put-upon assistant who finally snaps. It’s like a cross between Entourage and Working Girl — until it gets a whole lot darker. This series has a killer twist and we can’t wait to see how Kruger and Shipka will play this out.

Actress Kruger is currently quarantining with boyfriend Norman Reedus and promoted her upcoming show on Instagram while celebrating Quibi’s launch. “Quibi launches tomorrow!! I’m excited to be part of the family ♥️,” she wrote. “Watch out for ‘Swimming with Sharks’ coming soon.”

The series will follow the relationship between Kruger’s character Joyce, a female studio head, and her young assistant Lou, played by Shipka. “A young female assistant who is at the center of a studio filled with manipulators, schemers and intrigue,” the tagline reads. “Little do they know she is poised to outwit them all.”

We don’t want to give too much away (though you can always rewatch the 1994 version while we wait). We have a feeling Kruger will play a reliably terrifying boss — and until then, we’ll just have to catch up on Chrissy’s Court, out now.
