Adam Scott has yet to tire of the calzone jokes!

On Parks and Recreation — which ran for seven seasons from 2009 to 2015 — viewers saw Scott's character Ben Wyatt's enthusiasm for calzones and all things fantasy. The 51-year-old actor exclusively tells PEOPLE that fans still bring up his character's unique quirks.

"Calzones are a thing that I feel almost like calzones are going to be on my gravestone or something," he laughs, crediting the frequent references he receives to the show's co-creator Mike Schur. "Every time a calzone gets sent to me in a restaurant or anything, I text Mike and I'm like, 'Just so you know, this thing is still happening.'"

Scott says that his relationship with calzones seem to have come full circle. The actor reveals that he was once a "pizza delivery guy" and would often deliver the pockets of cheese, dough and sauce in his former life.

"[It's] ridiculous that calzones are following me around," he quips, adding that "there's nothing wrong with a calzone."

The Severance star knows that the calzone reference will "never die" but appreciates the "hilarious" but "stupid" nature of the joke.

"It's so fun. I really love that show. I was into it before I even joined. I was a big fan," he reflects.

Though nearly a decade has passed since the sitcom has been on air, Scott says that the cast has kept close through all these years and confessed that he missed seeing his former costars on a daily basis.

"I miss everybody. We all are on a text chain, and at least once a week we all add to the chain, and it's great. Everyone's so great. I really miss them." he continues. "They're the best. It was so fun. No one took it for granted. We all had a blast... I know people say that about their shows. It's annoying, but it really was so fun, and everyone ... got that it was special, and no one was sick of going to work."
