Adam Sandler Hosting ‘SNL’: Don’t Expect to See ‘Canteen Boy’

Adam Sandler is gearing up for a triumphant return to “Saturday Night Live,” and although he’s expected to bring many of his classic characters back to life, one of his good buddies thinks they all won’t make the cut.

David Spade was out in NYC promoting his new Comedy Central show and was asked about Sandler hosting the show this weekend. Spade has full faith in his friend to do a great job on “SNL,” and thinks he’ll be bringing back many of his famous skits.

However, he doesn’t think Canteen Boy will be making an appearance, which regularly portrayed Sandler as a bumbling Boy Scout who found himself in dangerous situations. The character became a part of “SNL” history after Alec Baldwin guest starred in the 90s and put on a very un-politically correct version.

After the ongoing accusations of sexual abuse in the scouts, it’s probably a good guess it may not be brought back. As for who will return, Spade is confident Opera Man will be back to sing through the current state of affairs.
