From Meg Bellamy in 'The Crown' to Camilla Luddington in 'William & Kate,' here are all the actresses who have played Kate Middleton

Just like many other royals, Kate Middleton's life has been documented on the screen.

Over the years, various actresses have played the Princess of Wales in everything from Lifetime movies to Hallmark films.

Recently, the Duchess of Cambridge got The Crown treatment as the final season of the hit Netflix series portrays the early days of Kate and Prince William's love story.

Several actors play the young prince at various stages of his life in the series. For his college years, Meg Bellamy joins him as Kate, which marks her onscreen debut as an actress.

Here's a look back at all the actresses who have played Kate through the years.

Before joining the cast of Grey's Anatomy as Dr. Jo Wilson, Camilla Luddington played Kate Middleton in the Lifetime film William & Kate: The Movie alongside Nico Evers-Swindell as Prince William. The 2011 TV movie documented the couple's fairytale romance ahead of their royal wedding and went viral for one particular scene that depicted Kate drinking a glass of wine in the tub following their 2007 breakup.

Shortly after the release of Lifetime's William & Kate, Hallmark Channel released their own Prince William and Kate Middleton biographical film, titled William & Catherine: A Royal Romance. The film starred English actress Alice St Clair as Kate and Younger actor Dan Amboyer as William. Additionally, the cast included Jane Alexander as Queen Elizabeth II and Victor Garber as Prince Charles.

In 2018, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle got their own Lifetime film, titled Harry and Meghan: A Royal Romance, ahead of their own royal wedding. In the TV movie, Laura Mitchell portrayed Kate Middleton alongside Burgess Abernethy as Prince William.

Lifetime later released two additional sequels, 2019's Harry & Meghan: Becoming Royal and 2021's Harry & Meghan: Escaping the Palace, which covered the couple's first year of marriage and their withdrawal from the royal family, respectively. Though different actors played Harry and Meghan in the follow-up films, Mitchell portrayed Kate in all three movies.

Newcomer Meg Bellamy is the latest actress to take on the role of Kate Middleton. Marking her onscreen debut, Bellamy plays the Duchess of Cambridge in the sixth and final season of The Crown. The new season is the first introduction of Kate as the show documents the beginning of Kate and William's love story at the University of St. Andrews.
