Kate Beckinsale and Len Wiseman Split

Actress Kate Beckinsale and director husband Len Wiseman have called it quits.

The pair, married in May 2004 after meeting on the set of their 2003 film Underworld, have been separated for months, according to People.

A source told the magazine that their conflicting schedules caused them to grow apart.

“They are still friendly and spend time together in L.A. when Kate is there,” the source said.

The breakup was revealed after Wiseman, 42, was seen out in L.A. with 24-year-old model CJ Franco — and without his wedding ring for the third time in two months.

Beckinsale, who’s also 42, has been in Prague filming Underworld 5. The source added that the Serendipity star is “not dating and only focused on her daughter and work."

Beckinsale shares 16-year-old Lily with former live-in love Michael Sheen. She and Wiseman did not have any children together, although he was apparently close to his stepdaughter.

”[Wiseman’s] primary concern in all of this is Lily,“ a second source explained. "He loves his stepdaughter and is there for her."

In January 2012, Beckinsale confirmed that both Sheen and Wiseman were on good terms with her daughter.

"The popular notion of how Michael and I broke up — that we were on [the first Underworld] and I ran off with the director — is just not true,” she told Entertainment Weekly. “If that were the case, I think it would be very difficult and peculiar to have an OK situation. But everybody involved has felt that the priority is Lily and wanting to get to a good place for her. And everyone is nice. So it’s not bad.”
