Terrence popped the question to Sultan in a surprise proposal in Miami over the weekend
Terrence J is engaged!
The actor and former BET host — whose real name is Terrence Jenkins — popped the question to his model girlfriend Mikalah Sultan over the weekend.
According to posts on the pair's respective Instagram Stories, Terrence, 41, asked Sultan, 25, to marry him in a surprise proposal in Miami. Both reshared photos posted by various friends and family members, including a shot of the couple kissing while dressed in coordinating black formal looks.
Another image posted by La La Anthony showed Terrence and Sultan cuddling on a couch as she held a single red rose and showed off her glittery engagement ring to the camera. "Congratulations to my brother @terrencj & @mikalahstyles on their engagement," Anthony, 41, wrote. "Sooo happy for them."
Sultan also shared a close-up look at her new ring, which features a large rectangular diamond.
The pair toasted their engagement with a party afterwards, surrounded by their loved ones including several of Sultan's family members, who were flown in for the occasion by Terrence.
In an Instagram Story post on Monday, Sultan seemingly implied that she had been flooded with congratulatory messages amid the engagement news. "It's taking me forever to respond to everyone but I'm trying 😂," she wrote.

Though Terrence and Sultan have kept their relationship pretty private, Sultan revealed last year that her then-boyfriend had surprised her with a white Range Rover for her 24th birthday.
"New car who dis? 🎁, she wrote on Instagram at the time, alongside two photos of herself posing in front of the car, which was adorned with a big red bow.
"I’m in love 😍 thanks so much @terrencej for the most amazing bday gift ever 🥳," she wrote. "2023 new body style."
Shortly after Halloween this year, Terrence shared photos of himself, Sultan and several others dressed in Baywatch-inspired red swimwear for a fun spoof shoot, which he captioned "Baewatch."
Terrence hosted BET's music video countdown show 106 & Park from 2006 to 2012, followed by a stint as co-anchor of E! News from 2012 to 2015. He has also appeared in several films and TV series over the years including Think Like a Man, Burlesque and Entourage.
In 2021, Terrence won an Oscar for the short film Two Distant Strangers, which he executive produced.
