'Abstraction + Love' opens Oct. 30 at the Lubeznik Center for the Arts
MICHIGAN CITY — The exhibit “Abstraction + Love” opens Oct. 30 and continues through Feb. 10 at the Lubeznik Center for the Arts, 101 W. Second St.
This exhibition provides a glimpse of where several, mostly Midwestern, contemporary artists have taken abstraction in the 21st century.
Artists showing in the exhibition include Claire Ashley, Helen Frankenthaler, Sarah Krepp, Robert Motherwell, Sandra Perlow, Julie Richman, Roland Santana, Edwin P. Shelton, Selina Trepp, Rhonda Wheatley, Bernard Williams and Molly Zuckerman-Hartung.
The works range from more solidly rooted in historic forms to quirky and experimental, from expressive, humorous animation to colorful, unruly inflatables.
An opening reception takes place from 5 to 8 p.m. CDT Nov. 3.
Other events include a gallery talk at 11:30 CST Nov. 11 and Family Day from 1 to 3 p.m. CST Feb. 10.
Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays through Fridays and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. All times Central.
