Abraham Lincoln comes alive as Studebaker museum presents 'A Visit With Abraham Lincoln'

SOUTH BEND — The Studebaker National Museum presents “A Visit With Abraham Lincoln” at 11 a.m. Dec. 9 at 201 Chapin St.

Kevin Wood, a professional Lincoln portrayer, will speak in character about Lincoln’s youth growing up on the frontier, his family, his lack of formal education, his love of reading and his great desire to learn, the different kinds of jobs he had, what the country was like back then, how he got his nickname “Honest Abe,” why he grew a beard, what he kept inside his hat, what it was like to be president, his boys’ experiences living in the White House, Lincoln family Christmas traditions and more.

After the talk, visitors will have the opportunity for a themed craft followed by a photo with Wood next to the Lincoln carriage.

Admission is $10-$5; free for ages 12 and younger.
